Your Springfield, Ohio Invisalign Experts

The plastic composition of Invisalign aligners makes them more comfortable than standard metal braces, which sometimes irritate the gums, lips and teeth. Drs. Dave and Matt Scurria and the team at Springfield Dental can design your customized aligner trays and monitor your progress during treatment to give you the smile you want.

The Initial Stage of Treatment

The process starts with a consultation, during which our dentists will examine your teeth, gums, bite and overall smile. If we determine you to be a good candidate for Invisalign, we’ll go over the estimated cost and timeline, and if you choose to move ahead with it, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and advanced images of your smile. We’ll send these materials to our trusted dental laboratory so it can create your customized aligner trays. Once they’re ready, we’ll review detailed instructions with you to ensure you feel confident during treatment.

How to Wear the Aligners

Invisalign aligners need to be worn 20-22 hours per day to ensure smooth progress. They can be removed during meals and during brushing and flossing, and you have the freedom to remove them during special occasions. The success of the treatment hinges on your dedication to wearing the aligners, though.

Every 1-2 weeks, as directed, you’ll transition to the next set of aligners to continue moving your teeth into place. We’ll also work with you to schedule followup appointments for every 6 weeks so we can monitor your progress.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign has a number of perks that make it more comfortable than standard metal braces, which are difficult to clean and prone to causing irritation.

  • Discreet appearance: Clear aligners are designed to blend in seamlessly with your teeth, so they’re almost impossible to see.
  • Removable trays: Unlike braces, which must be removed professionally, aligners can be removed for eating, cleaning and other occasions as needed. That means no dietary restrictions.
  • Increased comfort: The comfortable plastic material of Invisalign trays helps patients avoid the irritation caused by metal wires and brackets.
  • Versatility: Invisalign can help you deal with a wide variety of dental issues, from crooked or gapped teeth to overcrowding and misalignment.
